Louis A. Yaussi
Ambrit Industries Inc. was founded by two brothers, Louis A.Yaussi and Frank D. Yaussi in 1947. Both had recently retuned to civilian life after serving in the military during WWII. Frank had served in the 306th Bomb Group and had been the lead bombardier in the very first bombing mission over Germany as well as many other famous missions. Louis had served in Burma as a radio operator regularly flying “The Hump”, a dangerous 530 mile flight over the Himalayas to re-supply the Chinese army.
In the early 1970’s Louis and Frank hired Mary Bender to help them run the office. She has been a huge asset to the company ever since, and has always run a very tight ship. She is currently semi retired and comes in to help out when needed.
In the 1970’s Louis’s son Paul Yaussi began working at Ambrit. After completing college Paul began taking over day-to-day operations of Ambrit allowing his father and uncle to go into semi retirement in the early 1980s. During the late 1970s and early 1980s Edmund Wallasch was making frequent visits to Ambrit doing electrical troubleshooting for his fathers electrical company as a summer job while finishing high school and college. Paul and Ed became good friends, and Paul quickly realized his need of Ed’s skills in order to allow him to achieve his goals with Ambrit. Ed was hired as Plant Manager of Ambrit Industries in 1983.
Paul and Ed began an intensive program of upgrading old equipment, buying modern equipment, adding automation, and improving organization throughout the plant. The business continued growing, and Ambrit expanded down the street, gradually taking over the remaining two buildings owned by Louis, thereby making Ambrit span the entire block. The main office was moved into the office space at 432 Magnolia Ave., and the old office became the Quality Control office.
